Hey y’all! I’m Brittani…

I’m a wife and soon to be former stay at home mom. I’ve been a stay at home mom for nearly 5 years and I’m going back to work. Yup. I’m cutting right to the chase here.. I’m nervous as hell. Buuuutttt… I’m going to use this blog to chronicle my journey. Because, the internet, right?!

Before deciding to go back to work, I searched all up and down on google for stories, shit that would make me feel better about going back to work or help me to update my resume properly so that I could actually get a damn job after not working for so long. The thing that stood out the most to me was that there was no one like ME dealing with a journey like this.

So, in comes me, like the captain save a hoe I can be sometimes, starting this blog for you and other folk who wanna read this. (*Insert smile and ding sound effect*) I want to not only chronicle this journey for me to look back on, but also for other women, and particularly women of color like me, who are going back to work for the first time after being afforded the ability to be home with their kiddos for awhile. (Damn I’m REALLY going to miss my tiny bosses!)

Now, I do realize that I’m not going to be everyones cup of tea.. and I do love me some tea.. but one thing I want you guys to know is that I’m a Cancer… which means I’m moody AF. This blog will probably be a reflection of that. LOL! So roll with it. I love Jesus (recently born again, but we will talk about that later!) but I do cuss a little (or a lot…) so this is your warning. I have no filter, y’all.

I start my new job on August 13th, 2018.. so, about 5 days. I’ll be a sales representative for a dope company.. I’m going to keep that private for now. But just know that this job is the ONE I reeeeeeallly wanted. So, I’m super thankful I got it! As I continue to blog, I’ll discuss what lead me to start looking for a job again, how the search went, how I got the job, and so much more.
